Use the actual chemical analysis from the delivery inspection document to evaluate and calculate CEV, CET and Pcm; no fixed CET or Pcm limit is assumed.

Verify identity and chemistry
Reconcile plate, heat and inspection document before assessing the procedure.

Plate ID, heat and actual analysis must resolve to the same record.

Set thermal control
Assess preheat and interpass control against chemistry, combined thickness, restraint, heat input and current conditions.

Record the decision in an approved WPS within its qualified range.

Prepare the joint
Use a clean, dry joint and low-hydrogen process with controlled consumable storage and handling.

Record joint condition and consumables before work starts.

Work under competent supervision
Control heat input, bead sequence and temperature within the procedure.

Inspect the joint, heat-affected zone and transitions to the WPS and ordered scope.
